tone poem for full orchestra
This neo-Romantic orchestral tone poem explores the beautiful and mysterious water world of the primordial Greek sea-god Phorcys, son of Gaia and father of the monstrous brood of Scylla, Medusa, and the Gorgons. Phorcys rules the depths of the ocean and all the dangers that lurk therein. This piece has everything: ancient shipwrecks, maelstroms, sea monsters, grottos, and ends triumphantly with Helios’ blazing chariot bursting from the sea to light the sky.
